Eligibility gates
Legal compatibility (the first four) is kept separate from employer willingness (the last). A licence proves capability, not intent.
Listed in the demo snapshot as Harbor Labs Limited
Legal entity supplied with the demo vacancy. A licence shows the organisation can sponsor, not that it will sponsor this role.
Likely Programmers and software development professionals (SOC 2134)
Inferred from the job title. The employer picks the code on the Certificate of Sponsorship, so ask them to confirm it.
Salary not stated (described as competitive)
An annual figure is needed to compare with the £54,700 threshold (standard general threshold £41,700, or the GOV.UK going rate for SOC 2134 (£54,700), whichever is higher). Weekly hours are not stated, so a full-time role is assumed.
New-entrant status unknown
Add your age, immigration status and route history to check the new-entrant rate. The standard threshold is used until then.
Licensed, but this vacancy is silent on sponsorship
A licence is capability only. Willingness for this role and level is unconfirmed.
Career match
Whether the job is worth wanting, which is a different question from whether the route works. Nothing here changes the Visa Fit result above.
A career match needs to know what you are looking for. Add a profile and this becomes a score out of 100 across role, level, location, pay and how recently the vacancy was posted.
What is missing
- Annual salary
- Occupation code, which the employer has not confirmed
- Whether the new-entrant rate applies to you
- Weekly hours
- Whether the employer will sponsor this role
What would change the result
Completing your profile lets the check apply the right threshold to this job.
Ask the recruiter
Polite, specific, and written so the answer maps straight onto a gate above.
- Could you confirm the annual salary for this role, and the weekly hours it is based on?
- If the role were sponsored, which occupation code (SOC code) would it be sponsored under?
- Would you consider Skilled Worker sponsorship for this role, and has the team sponsored similar roles before?

Terms used
- Sponsor licence
- Permission an employer holds from the Home Office to sponsor workers. It shows capability, not a promise for any particular role.
- Occupation code
- The SOC code the employer puts on the Certificate of Sponsorship. It decides whether the job is eligible and which going rate applies.
- Going rate
- The salary floor for that occupation code. The job must pay the general threshold or the going rate, whichever is higher.
- New entrant
- A lower salary rate, 70% of the going rate and at least £33,400, if you are under 26, on a Student visa at bachelor’s level or above or a Graduate visa now or in the last two years, or working towards a recognised qualification, registration or chartered status in the job. Limited to four years in total, Graduate visa time included.
